The key responsibilities of the role are to provide leadership to the Finance function in the Market in the areas of Commercial Finance, Controllership, Operational Finance, and transformation. Market Finance Director is a key Cluster Finance leadership role with a strong commercial, control and transformation emphasis, as well as senior member of the Market senior leadership team and the Cluster Finance leadership team. The job holder is expected to play a key role in defining the strategic evolution of the business, be a trusted advisor to the Market CEO and its leadership team. He/she supports the achievement of the revenue while ensuring the profitability targets are achieved. The job holder is expected to balance business growth with ensuring a strong Control & Compliance environment. Transformation is a key part of the role. The job holder is expected to be a strong contributor to the Market Transformation program currently rolled out across the Business and Finance function. The Finance Director in dentsu Sweden reports the Chief Finance Officer, dentsu Northern Europe.

  • Growth & Strategy

    • Advises on key business decisions through sound commercial judgement, highlighting options, trade-offs, risks and opportunities as a senior member of the management team.

    • Supports the growth and reshaping of business portfolio in line with the company strategy.

    • Leads the finance teams in providing financial insights to the business

    • Is responsible for the short and long-term budgetary planning and cost management.

    • Works collaborative with leaders of the market to make sure the budget is accurate, ambitious yet reflects the reality of the market and is in line with the vision of the company

    • Prioritizes KPIs and tracks performance against internal targets making timely interventions as appropriate.

  • Control & Compliance environment

    • Role model Control & Compliance mindset.

    • Responsible for external audit input from the market.

    • Secures compliance with Group policies, control and government requirements are met within the market.

  • Transformation

    • A critical part of the role is change management and transformation

    • Ensures the implementation of the continuous transformation, improvement and change programs to achieve benefits for our market.

  • Finance function leadership

    • Direct responsibility for performance and career development for market finance team

    • Manages and develops a high performance and commercially focused finance team in our market.

    • Builds and develop finance capabilities, increase efficiency and the value add of the Finance team. Embeds client profitability and excellent commercial judgement in business decision making

    • Member of Cluster Finance Leadership team, expected to be a key contributor to the team through active idea- and best practice sharing


  • 7+ years’ relevant experience across finance disciplines

  • Strong commercial edge

  • Expert level financial analysis skills

  • Fluent in English and Swedish

  • Strong service industry familiarity
